shorebirds

**updated Jan. 2024**

Shorebirds are my third favorite group of birds (behind waders and waterfowl), but perhaps my favorite to photograph.

American shorbs consist of four families in the order Charadriiformes, including:

stilts and avocets, oystercatchers, plovers, and sandpipers.
